Work has commenced on the Community Self-Build Agency's new 16-apartment development in Wrexham. The Ty Ryan project, in association with Williams Homes and First Choice Housing Association, will be named after the late Hilary Ryan, the former CEO of First Choice Housing Association who recently passed away. Ryan was the driving force behind the project and the name reflects her commitment to supporting local veterans through innovative self-build schemes.
The project will see a new selection of veterans gain on-the-job experience while being employed to build their own apartment complex. The Wrexham Western Gateway development, supported by Wrexham County Borough Council, will consist of one and two-bed apartments and will be partly funded by the MoD Veterans Accommodation Fund.
Not only will the project help the ex-forces personnel to learn new skills and have access to future employment opportunities, but the site will provide much needed accommodation for the town of Wrexham.
