The following Community Self Build Agency (CSBA) publications cover many aspects of self build including the experiences of previous self builders, training advice and effective management techniques.

Currently the only publications available are information sheets relating to aspect of Community Self Build Projects, all the publications listed on this page are being brought unto date due to the various changes in funding / legislation / changes within the housing corporation procedures and guide lines. Effective Project and Site Management Techniques, This training pack draws on the experiences from six projects. It was funded by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and produced by Constructive Individuals for the CSBA

You can do it, but read this first
Self builders and their partners came together for 2 days to share their experiences from completed projects. These were incorporated in this report. The Baring Foundation funded this work.

Shared Ownership Self Build 'Training for groups'
The experiences from six completed ownership schemes, formed the basis for this publication. The Housing Corporation and the Housing Associations Charitable Trust funded the research and production of this manual by Constructive Individuals for the CSBA

The aim of this guide was to provide a snapshot of what Community Self Build is, what it involves, how to get started, who you need to influence and the time it takes to make a start. The publication was supported by the Abbey National Charitable Trust

What Community Self Builders Say To mark 10 years of CSBA activity, self builders were asked for their comments on a range of issues. These include what motivated them to join and suggestions for the future. The report was funded through the Housing Corporation’s Innovation & Good Practice Programme.
